I've been researching saunas for months now and had finally settled on a Heavenly Heat when I went in to see my doc and he highly recommended I not do a sauna where my head is inside. He has written studies on thermotherapy so I thought I'd listen ;) That leaves the saunex and Jade saunas. The saunex is 3500 and the jade is 14k!!
The saunex only has a year warranty which I don't like for how much it is and the jade is just not an option, lol.
I found a jade locally that I tried out for 30.00 for 45 min and WOW. I highly rec this for lyme sufferers! The difference between having your head inside and outside a sauna is night and day for me. about
15 minutes in I was convinced it wasn't working till I touched my stomach and realized I was covered in sweat! I sweat so much but it was so pleasant. Breathing fresh air made it so much nicer to me. I've tried many box style saunas over the years, carbon heaters, ceramic.. Traditional.. And even the carbon ones were uncomfortable for me pretty quickly.
I'd been very focused on glues and woods previously, now I just want a sauna with my head out! I decided to buy a Therasage from amazon to see if it works at all. I know it can't possibly be as awesome as the jade, but I think using it daily would be more therapeutic then only using the jade 1-2x a week.
Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience with the jade. I slept so well and felt better immediately whereas with box saunas I'd always feel a bit overwhelmed in and after the sauna, then herx.
