This is a recent addition to the bizarre symptoms I've struggled with over the last twenty years. I haven't had an official LD diagnosis, so I'm not on any treatments, other than trying to improve my health through diet and detox using a sauna.
The vibration/buzzing typically happens in my upper body as I'm waking up, and disappears once I get up. I occasionally experience feeling wired when fully awake, but it's much worse when I wake with it.
I've described it as feeling like someone has plugged me into an electrical socket, or like I'm standing in the midst of numerous high powered electrical towers. The cell phone analogy is a good one.
Like another commenter shared, I also have the fine motor movements that move me back and forth ever so slightly while sitting completely still. I've had this for years.
I cannot tell you how relieving it is to know I'm not the only one experiencing these bizarre symptoms, causing everyone I describe them to, including docs, to look at me as if I had a third eye in the middle of my forehead.
