Is this Lyme Disease?

My daughter is 18. She has had "odd" symptoms for years. At the age of 8 she had Bell's Palsy. Who has that at that age? She has lymph glands in her neck that swell up periodically, pain in her joints for no good reason, cold feet all the time, and her knees swell up without cause. She has been tested for RA many times and it is always negative.

She just had blood work for Lyme Disease (Western Blot) and the medical assistant called and said everything was fine. I went in and picked up a copy of the results and under the 41 KD IGG it says REACTIVE A. I called the doctor back and left a message, but I am sure I won't hear back for a day or two.

From what I am reading, the results along with her symptoms point to LD. Am I not understanding the results clearly?

Your best bet in this battle to diagnose your daughter would be to seek out a Lyme Literate doctor as suggested above. They have the knowledge and can understand and read (being literate to scores on tests)and are capable of treating Lyme. Your primary care isn't probably educated on the difficulty of diagnosing Lyme and how to read the tests. Lots of times the Western Blot can come back negative but if you look into each band you can see how it might be positive. My Western Blot came back negative but my LLND explained how that can happen and yet how I still have Lyme because certain bands were positive and some were indeterminate. My CD 57 is 16. That is another test that is inexpensive but can be a piece to the puzzle of Lyme diagnosis. I have been sick for a few years. Lyme can hide in your system making it difficult to find on standard tests. Especially if you have had it for a long time. So our advice on this forum is don't give up and just see a doctor who is Lyme Literate. Lyme is 4 times more prevalent that the AIDS virus. Lyme has become epidemic. People with Lyme can have completely different symptoms. It affects people differently. It is called the great "imitator" because it mimicks many different illnesses and therefore is commonly misdiagnosed by main-stream doctors. You can go on for years suffering from different symptoms and never seem to get well. You can feel like you have some type of "mystery illness" and not understand why you feel sick so often. It is a bacteria that hides and transforms itself and fools your immune system so that your immune system doesn't have a chance to fight it. Most people who get diagnosed with Lyme didn't remember getting bit by a tick at all. (the ticks are small and some are as small as a period on the end of a sentence)
