Hi everyone! I'm starting a new antibiotic....well...a few of them!! I will be alternating quinine, which is a anti-malarial drug, and 2 other antibiotcs. Has anyone ever followed this protocol? After looking up this particular drug, I dont think I want to take it!!! Sounds like bad stuff to me ? confused

Quinine has been used safely for a very long time, and I still use small amounts of it to help control leg cramps when I get them. Can I ask what it is that scares you about it?

I tried to get quinine but couldn't find a good source. I've heard good things about it. As with any drug you need to follow guidelines and recommendations from your dr. It often is the case that too much of one can really be quite harmful.

Hi Guys, I always go online or use my drug book to look up meds my LLMD prescribes. The list of adverse reactions and possible organ damage are quite extensive sad I know with any drug the possibilities are endless for potential harm. These side effects listed are pretty specific. Talked with the nurse at LLMD office. She said most pts tolerate well and you "cycle" the Quinine with other antibiotics for short period of time so.....hear it goes eyes
