Hi my name is Jane and I am new to all of this. I am very confused about
this blood test and what is even worst what I look up on the internet is confusing. 41 KD IGG Band reactive, 23 KD IGM Band reactive. All others show non-reactive or negative. Does this mean I do have Lyme or does it mean I don't have enough bands to have Lymes. Can someone please help me figure all of this out.

Hi Jane,
Welcome to our little forum! I'm glad you found us. These lyme tests are very confusing. According to the CDC your test would be negative. According to any LLMD your test would be positive based on the 23 kDa band showing up. 23 is a borrelia species specific band while 41 is not. However, guessing that you went through labcorp/quest which are even more inaccurate.
In general, lyme is diagnosed clinically - with test results as a backup to support it. I'm guessing if you got tested you are experiencing symptoms. I would recommend going to a ILADS trained dr to be evaluated properly for lyme and coinfections. You can start a thread on our forum, "Looking for an LLMD in _________" to get you started.
I would also recommend checking out our "New to Lyme, Start here" thread. Lots of really good information there on how to find an LLMD, symptoms, and very important part of the picture....DETOXING! The good news is there are a lot of different methods people use to heal from these diseases too, so keep an
open mind when picking a treatment plan.
HW is a fantastic forum with a lot of knowledgeable members, ask any and all questions to help you oh your path to healing!
