Confused with my antibiotics intake

So I have my family doctor who is treating me with anti-biotics on so others doctor recommendation. the other doctor has expereicnce with lyme disease.

"Recommendations for Lyme Disease. .

Biaxin 500mgm bid one month
Flagyl 500mgm bid every other week"

I took 1 biaxin yesterday. on the bottle it says take 2 X 500 mgm biaxin a day. Is in that a little too excessive.

Ithink i should only being taken 1 biaxin a day. do you think my family doctor messed up? or should i actually be taken 2 biaxin daily.

I'd say that's a bit much to start out. Ask them about starting at half a pill once a day and ramping up gradually to the full dosage. I personally started at half a pill in the am mon weds Fri and once I was over the initial herx I'd bump up it helped to not completely incapacitate me.

But the goal is to be at 1000mg biaxin and 200mg flagyl I believe

Biaxin was the first abx I was on. I started on 500mg 2 x day. Took it for 12 weeks without any problems. You can start slow if you want. 1/2 pill x 3 days, then increase...
