Rifampin food cravings?

I've been on a ton of different medications over the last few years and some are better than others of course but I seem to have major food cravings when I'm on Rifampin. I don't like sweets when I am on it which I guess is a good thing, but I want salt and carbs and since I am gluten free this is a problem. I am soooo hungry for a meat, cheese and bread sandwich and chips. Anyone else have food cravings on Rifampin? I'm also on minocycline but I'm about 96% sure it's Rifampin that causes this as it has happened before.

I've got to say, this is a new one and I have not heard of it before. I have substituted my gluten cravings with popcorn full of butter and salt. :) or rice with garlic/butter.

I was recently told that sourdough bread has a really low gluten content so I'm going to research that a bit more before I recommend it but you could look into that too. ;)

Oh my! The strange food cravings I've been having lately. I had to have seafood last Saturday. The kids and I downed a container of smoked kippers with cheese and crackers. Then I had to have cucumbers, next it was hot German potato salad. Today, I'm craving pasta salad. I hope these end soon. I'm also on Rifampin.

It's like being pregnant. LOL
