Do places have FAR Infrared Sauna's

Do places have these to pay for 30 minute sessions or do you have to buy one?

I bought mine and I got a really nice one. When I realized that I was going to be dealing with this for a while and all the cheapo ones emitted EMFs I went for Heavenly Heat Eco FIR sauna. Now that I have been diagnosed with MTHFR I know I will need it for the rest of my life and I am so glad I got one! I think besides investing in blood tests to get the right diagnosis this has been my best purchase yet.

I am not affiliated with Heavenly Heat in any way and get nothing for recommending them.

I got an email about the following sauna in case you decide to look into them. It costs less than the fully enclosed wood ones. I don't know anything about the company, though, so do your research.

I'm looking to pay like $30 for a $30 minute session at a place that offers this. Do you know of any places or do you have to buy a model for your house?

cppoly they are building a Lyme disease center close to where I am. They will have FIR saunas there. Personally, I would never go even though it is great for people who cannot afford one right now. Here are my reasons why: I keep mine spotless clean and when I see how much I sweat I have no faith stepping in someone else's. You are supposed to do it 3x a week or so and most of the time I do 5x a week. That brings you to $360-$450 per month. That comes to $4,320-$5,400 per year. On top of that you have to spend time getting there and back. Also, when I get out I absolutely need to take a shower so you are taking a shower somewhere with about a million germs you don't want to catch right now that you are so compromised. After that I just go straight to bed because I am so exhausted. I cannot fathom actually traveling home from a session like that. I understand there are reasons why people cannot have one be it finances, space, significant other, etc… but I really believe that the best choice here is to own one. I will need it for the rest of my life so for me it makes no sense going elsewhere and paying for it. Good luck on figuring out what to do, it is not always clearcut!

You might check with fitness centers. I know some have had them. Some alternative doctors might have them, but probably not many. Physical therapists might. If you have any stores that sell them, they might be able to help you find a place to go to or they may have one for people to use. I knew of a place that did that in a town nearby. That's all I can think of for now. If you want to say where you live, someone might know if a place.

Thanks garden peace. Now I'm thinking I was might want to change my mind because I found one for $1,300.

Lymebabe, how much was yours that you have? Also can you check out this one that I found. It looks pretty good for $1,300. I went to heavenly heat's website and they don't advertise prices (I'm assuming expensive! ). What's your tech opinion on this one:

Mine is a 1 person and was $2,800. I would be kinda worried about the speakers inside. It really should not have anything that will let out any chemicals at 120F degrees. What you are looking for in a sauna is no treated wood and no glues, plastic, etc. They do not say that their heaters emit low EMF so that is a warning sign to me. If they did it would be posted. That is a biggie with FIR saunas. Do you want a 2 person sauna?

Tanning salons are beginning to offer them. The cost is somewhere between $20 and $40. I haven't tried it yet but a friend of mine with lupus does it every week and is very happy with the results.
Has anyone built a sauna themselves? Or a sweat lodge? It seems the heating component would be the most expensive. I can't take on the project right now, but Id love some tips on materials and plans.

Thanks Lymebabe. I will keep that in mind. I'm fine with a one person sauna. I'm going to keep looking. Around $1,300 is my price range if I can find one.

Good luck! There is so much to know with this disease it is crazy! Now we need to know how a good sauna is built, good grief! People were posting here about the Biomat or something like that. I liked the idea and you may want to look into that.

I have a Biomat. We have a sauna too, but my daughter and I can't tolerate the heat around our heads, so it doesn't get used. I see that some of them now don't have the heaters going all the way to the top of the wall, so that might work better for us, but I'd want to try one before I bought another one, or get one like the one I mentioned before. I will most likely not get another one and just use the Biomats.
