So the past 2 weeks I feel like I'm starving to death. I feel like i haven't ate anything in days. I never had this symptom before.

I just ate a huge dinner and then continued to eat a bowl of cereal (gluten free w/ almond milk). Then I had another bowl. All within 15 minutes of eating dinner.

I switched from doxy to Ceftin and Zith about a month ago. Like i said, this probably started last week some time.

I have pretty much always ate the "lyme diet" even before i got lyme since i am a health nut.

I am very slightly hypothyroid. That was diagnosed a year before my tick bite and my doc said he was hesitant even to put me on med for it since i was just barely hypo. I don't know if this could be related.

I searched the archives and couldn't find whether it's related to lyme or a co-infection.

Also, the past few days, i'm like losing my mind. I cry out of nowhere , was just sitting at work today and started crying. Then a few minutes later i am laughing like a hysterical maniac. What's going on?

I did start new herbals last week like OLE, D3, and Vit C. Also started rotations of Samento, Banderol, and PC Noni.

Some of my old symptoma have returned and worsened like my head feeling like it's in a vice, pressure in roof of my mouth and constant ear popping in my left ear. Also some weird pains/feelings in my head and ears ringing.

If anyone has any ideas, it would be appreciated. I'm not sure if I'm herxing or getting worse or something.

I totally agree with Opugirl that it might be your thyroid/adrenals. I too am hypotyroid (Hashimotos) and suffer from the same symtoms that you described, including the crying, hunger, etc.

I lost 40 lbs due to Lyme and so matter how much I eat I can't seem to gain any weight. Sometimes I am so hungry that I eat twice as much as I normally do.

The crying, It is brought on by a song, a commercial, a movie...just about anything emotional. Not cool being that I am a guy.

My Endo also said that I was barely Hypothyroid and did not prescribe anything. She said that I had to wait until my thyroid died because it is still barely working then she could prescribe something. I found out that gluten was attacking my thyroid and that is why I was having issues. I stopped eating gluten and things have gotten better since. I have read that Armour can level off the crying & hysteria as well as the fatigue that we experience. Since hormones also control the appetite, I think it also affects that.

interesting post. my son (4) with lyme, will sometimes say he's soooo hungry, over and over, usually in the morning. It's not constant, but it's common. And, the crying, he also will say out of the blue (not often, but sometimes, more than a 4 year old should) "I feel like crying", even when there's no reason for him to at the time.

I can relate to the llmd only being useful for the abx. After two appt.'s so far, I feel like that's all we're going to get out of our llmd too. Kind of frustrating; so I'm looking around too. Good luck to you on your search!

What you are describing was the same for me when I began certain new antibiotics: in particular Flagyl, Mepron, Malarone, and Tindazole.
I think it is a form of a herx or your body adapting to the new regime.

I combated it with a changing rotation of probiotics and other supports to the microbiota, like kefir, kombucha and sauerkraut. Read what is in the probiotics and try to get a greater variety of "critters".

If you don't see an improvement, you should call your doctor, for sure. The doctor might have you back off on some of your medications or look into the cause of the diarrhea.

You can make your own kefir, I found the starter at www.culturesforhealth.com. Or I find it in the store in the organic section but if you make your own there are more good bugs in it. I experimented making mine from coconut milk which wasn't to bad then I turn the kefir into a smoothie.

My doctor has me taking several different kinds of probiotics and prebiotics. I take them 3 times a day plus drink kombucha tea I make and cultured vegetables that I buy the starter from the above website.

Thanks for the reply! I feel sorry for what your going through but feel better that someone else is having the same symptom! I am so scared to gain a lot of weight because I'm eating all the time. My desk at work is a joke... all full of food and then room for my computer. Lol.

I never thought I had Bart but I'm not so sure now. I know I have Babesia but the symptoms overlap so much. I never had the foot pain with Bart although sometimes I get cramping in my arches and toes. Sometimes I get a burning sensation in my toes and arches too but it will only last like an hour at most. I think Lyme could be causing this too?

What kind of Bart symptoms do you have? I've researched every article on Bart and Babs symptoms and can't really decide if I think I have Bart or not.

Does anyone know if Zith and Ceftin hit Bart? Or Samento/Banderol, Olive Leaf Extract? That's what I've been taking since I started feeling this way.

I can't remember where I read it but one of the co-infections symptom list said it must be considered if neurological symptoms are worse than other symptoms. I have definite neurological symptoms. Constant dizziness, unsteady walking, shaking, confusion like if I'm walking around a store or something. I also get weird feelings in my head and my left ear consistently pops. I also have a lot of pressure in my head.
