my son (4) has lyme (diagnosed in Jan 14, symptoms started Sept. 2013) and starting in Nov. 2013 he would have accidents just all of the sudden, during the day, and eve. It still continues; it's random, sporadic and maybe cycles, it comes and goes. He may have 5-7 days with no accidents and then have them every day for awhile, anywhere from 2-4 accidents a day.
I suspected they had to do with lyme in about
Dec., when they seemed to pick up a bit, and by then I was convinced he had lyme, although the diagnosis didn't come until the end of January.
The accidents truly surprise him. I read the following quote from a list of symptoms for lyme disease and when I read it for the first time, I thought it described my son's accidents perfectly.
Here's the quote regarding urinary disturbances as a symptom of lyme:
"Frequent, urgent need to urinate with difficulty to suppress. Loss of bladder awareness. Emptying instantly upon movement. Urine leakage. Sudden inability to contract muscles. These symptoms just as suddenly disappear and everything is back to normal, until they again suddenly reappear."
