Interstitial cystitis

How long have you had this going on for? Is it interstitial cystitis or just cystitis caused by Lyme?

This happened to me in the second month of my Lyme infection, and I ran from my PCP, to a urologist, to my OBGYN, and all of the cultures and sonograms came back normal.

After I discovered I had Lyme, and found out it could cause cystitis, I finally had my answers, but by then, it had already subsided.

What I did was, I went on a no-sugar diet (I am back on it now b/c of Lyme) and took D-Mannose 500mg twice a day (which is actually a natural sugar that removes toxins/bacteria from your Urinary Tract). Worked like a charm for me - maybe it will help you!!

I am sorry you are going thru this, I feel your pain, I was in the bathroom like 20 times a day for 5 weeks!!!

I had it so bad through my pregnant the last baby I had! I would be on the floor of the shower crying, at times... It was so bad it felt like I had a searing hot knife in my urethra. I had lots of bladder and kidney infections too that I actually was admitted and needed IV rocephin. So painful, I'm sorry. At the time I didn't know I had lyme.

Maine, I think you're talking about bladder infections, and cystitis in general.

Interstitial Cystitis is a bit different. It's not an infection.
