In 2/2011 I had knee surgery to clean up a completely torn through meniscus on my right knee. I am not a runner. I had been unknowningly suffering with debilitating physical/mental issues for years(LD/co), so I was not running around, exercising, doing crazy physical work, etc. In fact, it was just the opposite. Just walking was difficult. This came out of nowhere, about
a year prior to surgery, and slowly my knee pain increased to the point I was unable to walk without the aid of crutches. An MRI showed it was completely severed. What should have taken me 1-3 months to completely recoup, I was still in pain and limping for a year after the surgery. I still find at times pain starts up, or hits me out of nowhere.
I've also read that if one has LD/co, it's usually going to take extra long to get healed from surgeries and/or physical hurts.
I"m now wondering if people with LD are at higher risk for suffering with these types of knee issues?
Any one here dealt with, or dealing with this kind of knee issue? Or, know another LD person who has?
Thanks.
