Oh the irony!!! I came to the U.S. seven yrs ago from the U.K., I married a U.S. citizen and have lived here ever since. I was officially diagnosed with Lyme a couple of days ago on April fools day (no joke) and I now have the distinction of being a lymie with lyme. I am scared and fragile but I look forward to meeting you all.

Thank you for the welcomes and the support. I am currently on day 6 of a 21 day script of doxy's. Is 21 days really enough? Thanks again.

I am feeling quite well under the circumstances, thank you for asking. I ache all over but no major herxing as yet. I am scared about my future though, I have already developed anxiety issues so how am I supposed to cope when I get a new pain and I'm not sure if it's the lyme, a herx or something completely unrelated?

My PCP is either clueless or playing dumb, she phoned me to tell me my test was positive then told me where I could pick up my abx, I had to ask all the questions about herxing, diet, what else to expect etc,. I found out myself that it is potentially fatal to take strong abx without taking probiotics, why didn't she tell me that. It must be the politics surrounding this illness.

Anyway, right now I have to face the fact that some uninvited guests have thrown a block party in my body and I have no idea how much damage they have done, how long it will take to fix or whether it can be fixed at all.
