Dr ordered IgM and IgG western blot test (CDC), but it doesn't say "Lyme" on it

Is that an issue? Is the IGG and IGM western blot specific to Lyme / Lyme strains? Or if they just test for those two immunoglobins generally, it should be the same thing?

Does anyone know? According to ILADs, it seems that IGM and IGG are just general antibodies that are made in response to anything, and not specifically Lyme

Hi Strategy,

It should mention Borrelia (Burgdorferi) on the test, that is the name of the bacteria that causes Lyme Disease. There are different strains of Borrelia, but they mostly look for the Burghdorferi strain.
