My Dr said that so long as the infection is not active, it is unlikely it will transmitted sexually and thus not be passed on to the baby. But if the lyme is currently producing symptoms, then it is likely it can be transmitted sexually and passed to the baby, BUT in this case, the mother can take antibiotics (amoxicillin) during the course of her entire pregnancy, and this can decrease the chances of it being passed to the baby.
