How are you removing the tick if it's engorged?

3 wks ago I didn't get the head but I continued to try and got it fairly quickly. I read on the cdc to remove with tweezwers close to the skin/head as possible and pull up, that's how I did it. I always feel some symptoms after finding a tick but this time its worse. I went to the care center a week ago and will be going back I think. fever etc and im taking ceftin 500 for the 8th day. my head and neck and joints are so painful. can you advise me as what course of treatment would help me? im so glad to find your forum, nobody understands.

I seem to get a lot of bull's-eye rashes with tick bites.
If you're being treated with abx when you get the tick bites, you should be ok. But you need to talk to your LLMD.
I get the rashes when I'm not being treated.

I didn't get a rash this time. I had the bullseye in 2000 when diagnosed. I have had some unexplained skin rashes of late thogh, reading this forum is bringing things to light for me. I don't have a llmd.

So you may have gotten some of the contents of the tick in you before you got the head out. There are tick removal tools that they say does a better job. One is called "Tick Twister".
You can start a new thread with the subject, "Need a LLMD or LLND in _____ . If someone knows of one, they will let you know. You need to have your email enabled in your private settings, since we can't post doctor's names on the forum.
If you haven't already, read through the "New to Lyme?...Start Here!" thread at the top of the page, where you can learn more about
Lyme. Welcome to the forum! It's a good place for support and learning.

With almost every tick bite I've ever had, I get swollen lymph nodes in my groin
