I intermittently, for months at a time, get urgency, frequency and incomplete emptying of my bladder. Does anyone worse get this? It's not always painful but annoying. I was at the urologist this morning. I'm
In my thirties and this isn't usual. I don't have continence issues just the sensation that I have to pee immediately after I have already gone. My doc said he could do a pelvic MRI to make sure there's nothing there that he couldn't see on the exam.

Wondering if this is yet another lyme symptom.

I have urinary issues that I think could be Lyme-related which are mainly burning upon urination or when sexually active. Good times.

I get the frequency and incomplete emptying (at least that's what it feels like), but not every day. It varies and some days I don't have it at all. It's better than the constant bladder infections I got when I was ill before!

Interesting post. For weeks now I have been getting up once or twice in the middle of the night with an urgent need to urinate. Well, I stopped taking Rifampin three days ago and noticed that for the last two days I have not had to go to the bathroom at night. I take Rifampin at 4:00PM each day so it is not like it should be affecting me at night.

As for the feeling of not emptying the bladder, try cranberry juice. It helped me when I had that problem. Soon after taking cranberry juice I had a stronger urine stream and was able to empty my bladder.

I also found that when I had the problem, I would take my fingers and placed them between the anus and the testicles and pushed forward towards the tip. This emptied the "channel" from any urine that did not make it out.

This was one of my initial symptoms along with menstrual irregularities. It passed once I started treatment. This started before disease went viral/neuro.

I'm thinking it's Bart and know a Lymie that cleared up those bladder symptoms with months of Levaquin which kind of proves it is Bart.

I think it's interesting that the same abx used for urinary issues like a UTI (Levaquin, Cipro, Bactrim) are the same ones prescribed for Bart.

I definitely have Bart..... I haven't been treated for it at all, and haven't had proper lyke treatment yet either. This did resolve for a period of time and it came back. All my nodes are blown out too right now and my throat hurts when I swallow. I had a post void residual of 170cc of urine at the urologist today. That means that is what was left after I voided.

When I was pregnant with my last two kids who are almost 3 yrs old and 18 mths old I had recurrent utis, I never did with my previous pregnancies and I kept saying, "what is this happening?!?!". I needed to be admitted for IV rocephin during my pregnancies and it was the craziest thing. Now I know why.

I definitely had bladder issues (extreme pain and urgency - hit the bathroom about 18 times a day), but it was a part of a cycle, so I was lucky it only lasted 5 weeks. However, before I knew it was lyme, I had taken augmentin and D-Mannose tabs and went on a sugarless diet. This may have been the trick for me.

Before I knew I had Lyme, there would be times when I felt like I was getting a UTI about once a month...so, I figured out that drinking cranberry juice periodically (at least once a week) seemed to help prevent the symptoms (urgency, frequency, burning during/after urinating).

I know Lyme can cause Interstitial Cystitis (basically, chronic UTI symptoms)...wouldn't surprise me if other coinfections could also.
