one thing I think of with the mouth movements is a motor tic. Now, I know that children can get these b/c of lyme. It can come with PANS, which stands for Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome, which is caused/triggered/induced however you want to say it by lyme as well as other infections. Other things that can be a part of that is OCD, anxiety, and emotional lability.
My son had a blinking motor tic when he first started his lyme symptoms, which passed after about 6 weeks or so. And, I've heard of mouth motor tics too, like an opening and closing sort of thing.
The thing is though, I don't know if these things affect adults with lyme too or not.
I know anxiety, irritability and OCD behavior can be a part of lyme with adults so maybe the motor tic thing can too? I'm not sure.
You can look it up for more info, but basically PANS has to do with a response to the infection; the immune system, infection, inflammation and their affect on the brain, I don't remember the details, but it's complex.
Again, maybe this just happens in children; I don't know for sure though.
