itching question

might be a little weird.. aug 2012-present I have been itching all over from head to toe. it was everyday for 6months from aug 2012-january 2013 then it seemed to calm down..

is ITCHING in weird generalized places in your body RELATED to LYME?!??????

I can't remember which one it is but my llmd said the itching is either bartonella or babesia, I think it was Bart. I thought I had poison oak for the first six months of my infections. I had had contact and rashes from poison oak but the itching never went away. Then when it disappeared and came back with no poison oak around anywhere I knew it had to be something else.
My ankles and legs itch the most. It's more frequent for me it seems when my colon and intestine are cleaner and more empty and alkaline. Which apparently makes sense because when you get them on the run, they like to hide in your joints. So I guess your joints itching can be a sign of killing bacteria in other areas if your body. I am not a physician nor to I claim to "know" anything or direct anyone's treatment. I just have a lot of opinions and only one A hole:)!

I certainly do understand all to well that horrible prickly itching. It keeps me awake. Actually startles me and can be related to several diseases, mostly to auto immune. I have quite a few. The dr. RX Hydroxyzine/Atarax,it works really well. Benedryl causes more itching. After years of looking finally the past 10 yrs found something that works. It also calms down my anxiety that comes with it.

I have a high level of adrenalin production. At night when I sleep I continue to produce high levels of adrenalin & with little movement while at rest or sleep. It then manifests into the itch from hell...
I describe it as an allergic reaction, feels like bees stinging with an all over incredible itch. Swelling in the body from auto immune diseases also contribute. Even Zantac most prescribed for acid indigestion is also a anti histamine sometimes it works.

There are no signs of a rash or skin lesions, only extreme itching. Allergy tested found nothing. Light box UVB & sun seems to help. Small exposures daily. After a few weeks of sun exposure all signs stop.

I Drink lots of water and keep moving the best way I can during the day. Helps decrease any itching, keeping skin well moisturized is essential for me.
Occasionally I need the Hydroxyzine. Sitting not moving is my worst enemy.
The itching is under control. Hydroxyzine is a anti histamine in a different family than all the OTC anti histamines.
