Hi -
Has anyone else here had a problem with sinus inflammation and Lyme? This was one of my very first symptoms and one that just will not go away. I have a feeling in the right part of my forehead of pressure and inflammation, which is worse upon laying down and which sometimes turns into the creepy-crawlies. No matter what medication or protocol I've tried, it doesn't resolve. It's as if there is a huge colony of borrelia residing up there.
----------------------------
Tick bite in Spain followed by rash - June 2013
Symptoms begin - July 2013
Finally diagnosed after 20 doctors - October 2013
Doxy - October - December 2013
IV silver nearly killed me - December 2013
Rocephin, 12 days - January 2014
Ceftin and Azith - Feb-March 2014
Sliding backwards - March, April 2014
PICC line with IV Rocephin, April - present (improving, somewhat)

Have you tried quercetin? I've used it for sinus problems with good results, but it depends on what is causing your problems. I'd suggest you look into it to see if it's anything you'd want to try.

Sinus inflammation is a typical symptom of mold exposure. You might want to get it checked. That and HLA mutations.

This issue has been flaring up like crazy for me as well lately! In my case, like lymebabe mentioned I think it's mold related - my sinuses had been doing fine for quite some time (aside from flareups whenever I'd have a glass of wine here and there for whatever reason) but then my apartment got infested with mold and I've been so incredibly sick with sinus problems (to the point where I'm actually displaced from my home right now - but that's another story!)
Two suggestions that I think help me a lot - oil of oregano - I take it as a capsule but I think you can take it other ways as well - it's a good antimicrobal and especially antifungal - I attribute a lot of my sinus relief to this although I can't be 100% certain. Might be worth a try.
Also I'd be lost without my neti pot - if you don't already use one I would strongly recommend starting to! Sinus irrigation will give you immediate relief with sinus symptoms and helps keep the nasal passages clearer.
Even though I attribute a lot of my sinus issues to mold, moreso now than ever, I certainly wouldn't put it past the lyme bacteria or its toxins to be causative in sinus issues - it's just the type of tissue those guys like to inflame!
Could also be allergy related - they say pollen and mold spores are crazy high this year - I actually just went to an allergist recently because of this really bizarre allergic reaction that we thought might be from pollen cross-reacting with food but now it's seeming like it was a weird reaction to the mold, which may have now triggered asthma......anyway not the point.
I hope you find some relief for those sinuses soon!

We had a lecture on mold and were told that. Let me do some more research. I know that we were told why and it made sense then but with my foggy brain I can't remember the reason! Let me get back to you on that.
