The symptoms you describe (the same ones I describe in our daughter's CSA herx - feeling of chest pressure, sighing, dry cough) can be related to babesia die-off.
Cat's claw is an immune stimulant. Improvement in the function of your immune system can produce a die-off comparable with abx or herbal antimicrobials.
For myself, a trial of cat's claw produced elbow/knee pain and extreme skin sensitivity. Any touch to my skin felt like someone was flicking me with a rubber band. Our daughter didn't seem to have any reaction to that herb. I was so uncomfortable I was forced to discontinue it, and haven't tried it since. I have herxed on other herbs, but not that badly.
