Hives--Reaction or herxing

So we started our son on the Buhner herbs and things were good for awhile and then he broke out into hives.  I stopped the herbs for now but he is still breaking out.

First questions, is this a negative reaction or could it be herxing?

Second question, how long do the herbs stay in your system, how long should I wait to try again?

Hives is an allergic reaction from what I understand. Is it possible it is coming from something other than herns. Also Benadryl has been used to help allergic reactions.

I would say stop everything, give his body a break and go slow. I'm going thru heck right now over I think a allergic reaction to AL complex. I've been taking AL complex for a few months. I would dry heave every morning and then as I increased the drops my throat started burning. It would burn so bad I could not function. Literally pacing all day like a crazy animal because the pain was so bad. Everything started to burn, my ears, eyes, nose. I thought it was a herx so I pushed through. But this is beyond normal. I'm so uncomfortable all day and night because the burning hasn't subsided.

I would let his body come back to normal and then start again.

Tell me what the hives look like, if you don't mind?

My understanding is that some hives are a sign of Bartonella?

I get hives that are like long scratches, and they're mostly in the chest or back area.

My guess is, also, that hives or rashes could indeed be part of a herx, although you said you stopped the herbs.
