It is pervasive, always in the same spot (right temple) and it makes my eye water, twitch and my ear ache and feel hot. This has been a regular thing for about 10 months, in fact it was one of my first symptoms and I can't stop worrying about it. I am on day 19 of the Cowden protocol so the fact that my headache feels worse these days could be a herx reaction. It is just so regular (2-3x a week) and it's always in the same place, that's what worries me most. I hope this is a herx because the alternative scares the hell out of me. There is no way I can afford an mri and I'm sick of living in fear. Sometimes the entire right hand side of my face feels warm.....what the hell is wrong with me?

I forgot to mention, periodically I see a flashing light in the outer corner of my eye and it feels like my brain is wobbling slightly there.

I get cluster headaches: one side of head, like someone is stabbing one eye with a hot ice pick, eye gets droopy and watery, nose on the same side of the eye is stuffed or starts running. Very intense pain in the eye, around he eye and temple.

My neurologist told me it is related to migraine, she sees it a lot with lyme patients.

I have had them for a long time, but all of a sudden it go worse last year. I was so scared I made an emergency appointment with my eye doctor. My eye was ok, he thought it must have been the nerves, especially when having LD.

I hope you get some relief soon...

Oh Marie, whenever I get a response like this I always feel really torn, part of me thinks, "great! Someone else knows how I feel." The other part thinks "oh s**t! Someone else knows how I feel. I hate this so much - I hate going through it and I hate knowing that others go through it too. I hope you are feeling better now.

I just started into a new phase in which I am getting these headaches. Possibly related to die off. Last night was awoken to intense headache, head pressure and eye pain, same as you describe Marie. I took doxycycline which immediately helped and then baby aspirin which also helped. Am just feeling sick sick sick with it. Gross. I ate something this morning and took probiotics which seems to have helped. My nights lately are awful with terrible insomnia followed by headache. Not good.

It's such an ambiguous feeling... happy, but also sad. My clusterheadaches come and go. I can't really link them to something. I can sometimes with migraine attacks: stress is a huge trigger. The clusterheadaches are so hard.

Barngurl, i know what you mean, they are so bad that you can't even sleep or sit still... It is amazing that you get such quick relief from taking abx. I wish they did something else to me than making me sick. Insomnia really makes the headache worse. Those headaches became more intense, and I couldn't sleep anymore, I thought I was loosing it, it was about the same time last year. Then my dr put me on Klonazepam so I could sleep and recuperate. Are you taking anything for the insomnia?

Hi Marie I am taking otc medication to help me sleep. It has helped but now it has stopped. The pain has also moved from my right to my left eye socket and now into the nasal cavity. It comes and go. It started before I left but we are away right now and I suspect there is mold or something in the air condition bc it has worsened dramatically since I got here. This is such a weird disease which keeps changing what kind of malady its going to inflict on you.

It changes sides sometimes, but most of the time it's my left side. Migraine is always on my right head side...
I know... it's crazy, one symptom gets better sometimes, then another one just pops up... this is a mean one, it makes you want to bang your head against the wall.
Try to get as much rest as possible, even if you don't sleep. Try to stay out of bright light too. It makes it worse.

OMG Marie its nuts. I def feel it creeping into my sinuses too. Its like eye socket pain with a headache then creeping down to sinus area. It really stinks bc I dont enjoy most activities too much any more. I can if they are very brief but that is it. I was also wondering if this pain could be related to a yeast or fungal infection.

PLEASE get the MRI. The hospital will work with you on a payment plan. They are actually very good and will accommodate IF you ask. Getting the MRI will greatly reduce your stress which will help your recovery and rule out other conditions... Head stuff is not something to take lightly especially with your symptoms. I had the same issue.

So sorry you also have headaches. I don't get them often anymore but when they come I go straight to bed. I second the suggestion you get an MRI just in case. Wish I knew what the secret was to keeping them away.
