Hi!
I saw Dr. P in Wilton last week. He is very knowledgeable on Lyme disease and has actually done studies on new drugs for Lyme.

Anyways, he told me he does not prescribe cyst busters because they caused brain tumors in rats and mice. Go with grape seed extract!

Now you tell me? LoL. So I take it you are referring to Flagyl and Tinidazole?

I think a brain tumor is the lessor of the two evils. At least then I would qualify for SSDI.

How long has Dr P been back in practice?

I understand tickbite666. 20years I think. He was one if the founders of ILADS and former president. unfortunately a lot of these drugs we have to take have horrible side effects and we have to take the risk. Just thought I would share that info.

Yes, I know several folks who use to see him, but I thought he had to close his practice several years ago due to personal health issues. This is the first time I heard that he was back in business. That's good news... he is one of the best in our area.

icurseticks: you mentioned grape seed extract. Did you mean grapefruit seed extract as a cyst buster.

I just want to be sure...as I know grape seed extract is a powerful antioxidant, but i thought it was grapefruit seed extract for cyst busting.

The question is - does it work BETTER than Flagyl ?

Did the dr have lyme and had to stop working for awhile like so many of us, too many of us. Just curious since most drs start treating lyme & co-infections because they have it or family member.

totally correct. Flagyl has been proven to cause cancer in mice - tindamax is assumed. In either case, I avoided both and went with Grapefruit seed extract instead. whether or not it works better than flagyl, i personally am not taking the risk.

Hey Roxie, no he did not have Lyme. His dad did however. He actually saved his dad. He had a major heart issue and was about to have a heart transplant, but they did western blot on him and only 41 kd showed up. Dr. P decided to treat his dad for Lyme and he got better, and did not need transplant after all.

I only know this because I read an article on him. He did tell me tho that his dad only tested positive in one band, because I was questioning my diagnosis since I only had 23 kd show up... Which according to him is 99.6% positive for Lyme. Wonderful:(

I have been told by my LLMD to take something called
Lumbrokinase capsules. I think it is a cyst buster for LD and I wonder if this also is a cancer risky thing to take?

I noticed that LymePickle takes this Lumbrokinase. Do you know what that is for--LymeP???? And will you keep on taking it if it is
a cancer causing cyst buster?

Lumbrokinase ? That is safe to take, it's a peptide that dissolves away biofilms, it doesn't cause cancer.

The ones that can potentially cause cancer or genetic mutations are flagyl and tinidazole. But it is believed they only activate by anaerobic bacteria.

There isn't really any published data or studies about either of these drugs causing cancer in humans though. We just believe the risk is there.

These drugs work with a different mechanism than other abx and can kill dormant lyme germs. The kind that go dormant and can reactivate at another time.

I think these drugs do work very well against lyme though. Tinidazole got me considerably well in just 6 weeks .

I haven't been taking the tinidazole lately though.
