LymePickle - can you give me an article about
Zithromax staying in the tissues. I can't find a lot of research out there to show my doctor...
I called my llmd this morning to ask if I could cut back on the Zithromax dose now that I'm takin 500 mg of Ceftin twice daily as well, & she said, no keep taking the same dosages.
I'm concerned though...
She has been doing this 35 years and has told me "I'm going to do what I knows works." I do trust her, she's treated tons of people including her son, but some of the conversations on this forum about
Zithro really start freaking me out. I mean, what are the repercussions later... I'm only 29 and I have a baby.
There is only one other doctor even remotely close and I'm already seeing him. He's integrative medicine and fairly new to treating Lyme. I saw him this morning and he said "it is a hefty dose, but I see what she's doing and I can't disagree with her. The risk with all abx is that they damage mitochondria. There's no exact science with Lyme, we've only been treating it for 20 years, and chronic Lyme for even less time. everyone responds differently in their treatment protocols, but that's why I'm doing IV and oral Phosphatydl choline, glutathione, and vitamin c - This will boost the immune system and assist in removing the toxins from the blood and tissues. I'm inimizing any collateral damage." He also said, he and my llmd agree that I'm the healthiest Lyme patient they've ever had...
What should I do? Should I go ahead a push to reduce the dose of Zithromax? Can you guys provide me with any articles you've read on this?
I'm very concerned that if I push too hard or refuse, then my LLMD will just quit treating me. The only other place I could go is the wellness center in Tampa, but I have no one here to watch my son. He's not even 2.
I need help guys. How dangerous is this dose I'm taking? What are the repercussions?
