I went to the local ND yesterday, knowing she is not LL. I had heard that she was starting to treat lyme disease and was learning/researching. I have been taking doxy for a couple of weeks, but need to switch due to sun sensitivity issues.
I was fully prepared for her lack of knowledge, but I was there for one reason - to get a presc. for zithromax.
I patiently sat through the 45 minute appointment as she went through her supplement list and discussed what she thought I should be taking. She did not once mention detox. She handed me her protocol for lyme and co-infections - and it was so structured - no combinations - no alternatives for the pharmaceuticals. Two options for lyme - doxy or biaxcin, one option for bart - doxy, one option for babs - zithromax.
She informed me that she doesn't prescribe zithromax for lyme - but she does for babesia.
I went on to tell her that I may have babesia, and convinced her to write me a script.
She wanted me to buy a bottle of her own concoction for lyme that included teasel root and stores it in a large bottle. I did not want it - it's just in an unsealed bottle and she fills up smaller bottles for her patients.
I walked out with what I wanted (prescription in hand) so it was a success.
I am hoping I can get in to see the LLND (on a cancellation list) before Aug. 9th. But, until then, I can take the zithro.
She is not even close to being prepared/knowledgeable to treat lyme patients.
