Wow! If I had a friend or neighbor actually comment on the state of my house--I can't imagine what I would do!
I usually do have more help around the house. My 4 teens are away this week and next & so it's just the 7yo and me and the hubby. If I'd known how much I'd miss the 2 big girls' help, I might not have let them go visit Grandma!

Hi MamaV,
I totally understand how you feel...
Iused to worry about my house, it caused a lot of stress. Just the fact of not being able to do it all by myself anymore caused stress.
I don't mind it anymore (most of the time) (but it took some time to get over it..., I have to admit it).
I'm more like 'if you can't handle it, you are free to go and watch super clean houses elsewhere' now.
Husband is now doing most of the household. It's not perfect, but it does look ok. I stopped being too perfectionist. It's too exhausting.
I think it is a good idea though to give others chores at home. And to ask people help when it is too much to handle on your own. People don't have to know that you did not do all the work, if you are not ready to tell them what's going on with you.
((I almost attacked my neighbour last week. They are really unpleasant naggy people. We had a severe discussion, she stuck her head out of her front door and said 'you don't keep your house clean'. I almost attacked her, especially because she has never put a single foot in our house. I think she doesn't know anything about Lyme/Bart rage and didn't realize the actual danger she was in. LOL.))
