Posting for my sister and I'm a newbie here and am hoping for some help- I would love to find a doctor in the area that is lyme literate and someone who actually listens and believes you when you speak. She has been going through symptoms of lyme for a while now and one doctor about two years ago put her on Doxy (after neg. results) but she had complete numbness through her legs when she started taking it so they took her off and put her on amoxicillin. She's gone to otter doctors but every one wants to push MS on her instead of listening to her and maybe thinking it could be something else. So of course she's scared to death and I want to find her someone who will take a broad look at her and will look deeply into the lyme theory. Does anyone know of a good doctor that takes insurance? or who isn't unbelievably priced? Thanks guys!

Hi Laura - That is wonderful that you are looking out for your sister. She is very lucky to have your support.
In the meantime, have you looked at the thread at the top of the page: "New to Lyme?....start here." It is full of good information. The detoxing ideas are something your sister could start while waiting for an appt. with a Lyme Literate Dr.

I'm sure someone will post about a Dr. in your area soon.

I have one in NYC if you want to email me. They don't take insurance though.
