I am curious if you other lymies get yearly flu, pneumonia or shingles shots? What about updated tetanus shots?
Would like to get updated shots but not if it causes more sx.

The only shot I have gotten in the past 20 years is tetanus.

I don't trust the vaccines.

I don't know if it would cause more symptoms...but I don't like the "extras" that are in the vaccines - they are not healthy.

Tetanus shots do have mercury in them. Our doc offered some free of it and they went fast, but I don't think he can get any more. I don't trust any of them, especially when I have a chronic illness.

as a pharmacist, I do not advise anyone who has lyme to get any vaccinations whatsoever. It is not recommended in general to get vaccinations if you are sick, or have colds, or chronic illnesses because your immune system is already weak. With lyme, it is very weak. So stay away - plus the flu shot is useless anyway. There are many strains of the flu out there, and the shot only contains the one they "think" will be the most prominent. So it makes no sense to get the flu shot if you still have a chance of getting the flu!!

My experience was with the TDap - whooping cough one - a few years back. This was before I knew I had lyme but knew I didn't feel right. Doc convinced me to get it because I was due and had a young child at home. I felt like utter hell for maybe two weeks after. Have never had a reaction to vaccines in the past and this just knocked me down. Like lying down on the floor because I can't stand up type of misery. It was bad. For me.....never again. I'm done with vaccines now. Just my experience. I say make sure you do your research so you can make an informed choice. Instead of the flu vaccine, we just get some Elderberry in the house. How many people do I know who faithfully got the flu vaccine only to come down with the flu later that winter because it was a different strain than the vaccine. What a waste. Just my two cents.

No.

Our daughter lost motor ability and developed apraxia after her 15 month MMR vaccination. Then she developed her physical lyme/bartonella symptoms after her MMR booster at age 7. I am stubborn. You have to hit me over the head with a brick before I figure things out.

Flu vaccination may provide some possible immunity to the flu virus, but at a significant cost to the immune system because of the adjuvants and metals it contains. Our bodies have to contend with many more infections than simply the flu virus on a daily basis. It's not worth it.

My LLMD is not into vaccinations.

I would never take a flu shot, and I never have in the past.

The only ones I got since being a baby are tetanus shots (the last one I got was combined with diphteria and polio, standard combination).

A few years ago I had to travel to a region that had risk of Hepatitis and Yellow Fever. My llmd (this was a year before I started treatment) told me not to get the vaccines. If absolutely necessary, I could take the HepA, but he said I would get immunity issues (he predicted a serious infection) about 3 months after the shot. He was totally right, exactly 3 months later I got infected with a serious Chlamydia Pn. He said no Yellow Fever and ordered me to stay home if a Yellow Fever shot was obligatory.

I'm staying away from vaccinations...

Never again will I get a vaccine for anything. To many side effects for me.

I think pass on the flu shot or immunization. What it does is causes a reaction the immune system, and the immune system then has to focus some of its energy on the antigens presented in the flu shot or vaccine or immunization. It could be using these resources on the illness at hand. Also the immune system also has a certain amount of memory just like our brains can only remember so much. The amount of info that lyme presents to it can become overwhelming ad lyme has so many tricking mechanisms.

Anyways my LLMD said no, you should probably not get a flu shot.
