So I had a clear EKG about a month ago and the doc said my heart is fine and looks good, are those tests good and reliable? Cause I have had points where it feels like my heart slows down then it speeds up, not sure what to think but I know I had a clear ekg, is that a good thing? If so then I wonder why my heart feels so weird as of late.

With neuro lyme and its treatment the nerves in the body are all affected. The Vegus nerve controls a lot of things including your heart rate. So that could be the problem. Or hormonal changes or electrolyte imbalances or ... goodness knows.

So your EKG is fine, that is good. My EKG is not fine, but further tests haven't revealed anything definite. So I just carry on.

If it is Lyme or Lyme treatment related, it will come and go and eventually be resolved. Magnesium, potassium and fish oil can help with our little heart weirdnesses. Also, if you notice this happens when you are sitting or lying still, get up and move around for a while, it should help.

So try not to stress. If it is stressing you, you should go back to your doctor and ask for more testing or a referral to a cardiologist.

I don't know. I have the same issues. In May, my ekg was fine, too. This past week, I had an echocardiogram, and a 24 hr monitor, but results are back yet. But, as it goes, during the 24 hr I wore the monitor, my heart didn't do any of the flipflops, strong heavy rapid beating, slow and almost stopped beating, or any of the other things. :) Go figure.

I'll let you know what the tests show. If 'nothing' the cardio dr said then my heart is fine, even though I asked him then what's up with all the screwed up stuff going on.... he again said, if the tests are fine, your heart is fine. I tend to disagree with that.

Not sure, but Bart can cause heart issues. I have that. We'll see.

That is weird, I think it is a good sign that the ekg is normal but then it's like you feel there's no way it could be normal because the heart feels like it's failing or something, idk how to explain it but it's very odd, sometimes I feel like these doctors just tell me everything is okay just to get rid of me, my instinct and intuition always tells me otherwise but supposedly it's never right according to doctors.
