Long story, long history...daughter bite by three ticks in Rolling Hills Calif. Has exhibited Lyme symptoms over the years. Recently diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis by a Nurse Practioner with a large group of gastroenterologists in Portland. She didn't want to hear anything about possible Lyme,.....or cared to review health history which includes my daughter waking up one day with Bells Palsy symptom that lasted several days,...she has experienced sleep problems, drenching night sweats for two years,...always creaking/adjusting her neck, getting more and more migraine headaches. She is being put on heavy steroids starting this week, after being put on lighter steroids last week, and in that short time, the colitis progressed/worsened. It is her life, she is 25 and in Graduate School in Portland. I promised I would not bring up lyme/second opinion/etc. unless her condition worsens I promised to give the group treating her/her choice 1 month. If she has lyme or a transmitted other disease,........fro what I have read, the steroids will make the lyme disease worse. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR A REFERAL NEAR PORTLAND. MONEY IS AN ISSUE SHE HAS INSURANCE THROUGH PORTLAND STATE BUT IS A NEWLYWED IN GRADUATE SCHOOL
