I'm pretty sure I know the difference between IGM and IGG, but wondering if anyone else could give it to me in simpler terms?
From what I understand, IGM is more an "active" infection and IGG is maybe an older or past infection? Maybe I'm wrong.
I tested Igenex & CDC positive for IGM (I had 8 positive bands, +, ++ and +++'s), but my overall IGG was negative (although there were a few + and IND bands in there).
I made the mistake of reading the CDC website last night just to become irritated at what they say. They practically deny Lyme in people whenever they can. They said something like "if you have a positive IGM result and negative IGG, then you most likely DON'T HAVE LYME and your test is a FALSE NEGATIVE"!!!
That is ridiculous, right?! I was fuming as I was reading this stuff...
