dear lord I can't move I think I threw my back out

I've been cleaning like a mad woman all day. I went to pick up laundry off my table and I got an electric shock through the middle of my back. It usually only lasts a second but it's not fleeting like usual.

I can't breath in or wiggle my toes without intense pain. What happened to me!!!!!! Nooooo!!!!!!!

It has improved. I can sit up now. I can't move without a whole lot of effort. It took me 3 or 4 minutes to get about 20 feet. If I move slow enough I can carefully change position.

It felt like nerve pain at first. Like I got struck by lightning in the middle of my back.

if it still hurts. Ice gell pack it - do NOT use heat with a new inflamed injury. Yes, this is true, COLD only for now.

Despite what our grandmas told us -Heat adds fire to fire.

Aspirin Cream is good too.

IHL - That is a scary feeling - my mid back has locked up a few times in the past six months - its horrible!

Hope its starting to ease up a bit for you - take it easy - and rest it!!

I would definitely agree with astroman. Ice for 20 minute intervals. And no more cleaning like a mad woman! Moderate cleaning is likely enough activity while you are this will.

Oh no! I've been heating it hahaha. Shoot. I absolutely hate icing anything. I'm already freezing all the time :(

I'm still very sore. Of course I ended up getting a burning rash on my back at the same time. Whole thing turned bright red and splotchy here and there. Erg!!

I haven't been having a good time lately haha. I was trying to 'work' off my nervous energy cleaning and being productive. It felt amazing. My house looks and smells better. I felt ALIVE! hahaha

If I am 25 years old and having severe back pain from doing light chores, I must be very sick. I mean how ridiculous! My jaw got so tired just chewing food today that I didn't finish my lunch. Ugh.... These infections suck so bad!!!!! It's such a frustrating existence. At my age I should be able to run marathons if I want to, and I have a hard time getting to the bathroom!!

This too shall pass.

Oh nooooo!!!!!! It's still messed up!!! I can hardly get out of bed. It's pretty pathetic. This is bad.

OIL,do you still have the rash at the site of your pain?I am.asking because that is hoe my shingles presented itself.As for the heat over cold,I can not stand the cold either.I will use the moist heat for ten ,every hour.Hope you feel better.

Probably too late for this advice, but don't ever pack any ice directly on skin. You can damage the skin cells the same way that meat gets freezer burn in the freezer. It is best to pack the ice in a plastic bag and wrap a towel around it. The towel allows for the cold to get through while protecting your skin.

You will find that using a towel makes it more tolerable.

The welts were all over my stomach and my back. I don't think it's shingles. It was a scratchy Welty bartonella looking rash. At least that's my assumption.

Miraculously my back has eased up alot. It's still sore but not near as bad. I forced myself out of bed and tried to gently move around and it seems like it helped. I must've just got something in a weird place. I'm guessing it was nerve pain. And maybe some serious spasms. Yuck!!

It hurt right where it always has. Ever since my epidural from my c section I've suffered with back pain. Sometimes it's just sore and I get a lot of electric shock lightning bolt through my back pains.

I'm hoping this doesn't continue to happen. Like I've said I'm only 25 and I'm not really into settling for debilitating back pain. I was an active person before all of this, like many others. I've been lounging around since August and being so active cleaning my house yesterday must've just been too much. When you feel so good its hard to take it slow. I'm not good at pacing myself.

It hurts all around my rib cage. So I'm wondering if this is part of a bartonella herx. Like maybe my ribs are hurting where they connect to my spine? Who knows. I'm just happy it's eased up.
