I agree Girlie, I thought that with my doc too about
the ramping up part. He gave me 3 abx all at once start taking all at once and I actually ended up having to refrain from treatment for a bit because of the INSANE HERX that I had. I mean it put me down for the count :-/ He also never mentioned anything about
probiotics (I asked him) or about
detoxing either! I have always thought he should at least give out a pamphlet or something! But your right about
the "trial and error" and not being any "magic bullet" and doctors are human as well. Lyme is so complex as it is, I guess we just leave the treatment part up to them and we're expected to figure out the rest. It sucks though because some people solely depend on their doctor to write the script
s and tell them EVERYTHIING they are supposed to do like the old 'drink lots of fluids and OJ and get lots of rest' like when we used to go to docs for a cold and such. I feel bad for those people who think they can soley depend on their doctor with lyme disease/co's because theres so much more than just taking the meds to get well with this illness.
I remember the Girlie who had tons of good questions that would always pop in the forum around almost this time last year and recently I chuckled to myself reading one of your posts because you now
*have the answers* and was all talking about
"Macrolides" and all kinds of stuff! This time last year, you wouldve said "what in the world is a macrolide" lol ;-) You go girl!
We are not there yet, but are on our way. It just isnt QUICK enough with this darn illness but you and I both know patience is key. I am def in a better place than I was when I joined this forum (*No jinx! & knocks on wood*) and I know that you have recently mentioned you are as well. We just gotta keep "riding the waves" until we get there is how I look at it....
But just from reading your posts where you and LP would discuss your doc, it seems the meds your LLND has rotated you on have been pretty on point in my opinion.
Also, youre right..."one of them will work"! Theres been so many success stories where there has been a "breakthrough" antibiotic for some. People saying that when they took one of the abx Flagyl, Tindamax, Zithromax, Doxy , etc....whatever specific one is when they had a *turnaround*. I believe its the combo of meds throughout treatment, but def about
getting the *right* ones to target the *right infections* and while the infections are susceptible at being killed is also important.
Also, I know!.... Chapelle didnt even use Tindy or Flagyl either!! I think she said she tried the GSE but it gave her headaches and she stopped due to the toxicity of. Im so feeling that way lately.... Too many abx is just too hard on the body and the long term effects of Tindy/Flagyl are pretty scary. Its so good that you are pulsing the Tindy :)
Omgosh and the way Canada is..smh....I am glad you have an ND to treat you also!!
Well hopefully your having less supermarket incidents lately at least...that would be a good sign also! ;-) (I believe it was your purse the last time)
But we surely wont judge ya if you do have an incident either
