New to Lyme, or so I may be anyway, questions

Hello everyone, I'm 20 yeas old, I have a Few questions, the past year I have had depression, anxiety, mental problems, sore joints, back pain, (nothing new). I just want to know is there any accurate blood test to take(besides the doctors blood test, came back negative) and test for this, maybe like Igenex or something. I'm scared to death of antibiotics because I had a terrible reaction to them that almost took me out recently.

The tests are not very accurate. Igenex is a better option, but Lyme and other tick borne diseases should be diagnosed clinically (by symptoms and history). You will need a Lyme Literate Doctor for that. You will want to find a doctor associated with ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Disease Society). Don't waste your time with Infectious Disease Doctors. They under treat Lyme patients, if they treat at all.

Have a look at our "New to Lyme?" thread at the top of the forum. There are symptom lists you should check out and lots of other good resources as well.

Please don't worry about the prospect of antibiotics. Not all are created the same and they have different effects. And there are several other protocols that use herbal remedies. Many of our members are getting well using them or combined with antibiotics.
