Hi Mikes44—
I am glad you found us here but I'm sorry—those are clearly positive lyme results. The IND means there is a low level of antibodies to that particular band (39) but that is still positive—that's like trying to say a woman is "kinda" pregnant. Either she is, or she isn't. Either the antibodies represented by that band are there —or they are not. They are. And according to the CDC—you need five specific bands present for a positive result. But those guidelines are dangoursly outdated. And you have a positive test for lyme by current standards.
Please familiarize yourself with the "New to Lyme?" thread at the top of the main page… it is FULL of really great and useful information for anyone who suspects lyme and provides specific information for your next steps, which include finding a lyme literate MD (LLMD) if you have not already…
The thread also explains in more detail what the specific bands indicate.
And you'll find that most lyme sufferers did not have the infamous Erythema Migrans (EM) bulls-eye rash. And if they did, they didn't know it and never saw a tick (like me).
And the thread also suggests things you need to make sure your treatment protocol covers including detection of confections that are common with the ticks that carry lyme and must also be treated, other health issues and burdens to your immune system that you need to discover.
And, if you need to retest, it explains ways to help provoke a better response by your immune system —the tests used (like the one you took) are serology tests, meaning they measure your immune response to the infection. Your immune system is supposed to make antibodies agains the infection, which it has trouble doing because the lyme & confections weaken it. Therefore, the antibodies are tough to detect with the tests.
After you read the thread—you may still have questions so don't hesitate to ask—a lot of wonderfully generous posters here full of information. Glad you found us.
