Simela,
Sorry for any confusion. I didn't intend on sending you down the sarcoidosis path.
Instead, I was trying to say that Suzy Cohen mentioned in her newsletter that high 1,25 di-OH Vit D levels are seen in Lyme (as well as parathyroid disease, sarcoidosis, rheumatoid, fibromyalgia, and many other infections)
I haven't had much luck finding information online about
the association of elevated 1,25 di-OH Vit D levels and Lyme.
Instead, I found more info about
levels like that being seen in sarcoidosis (and yes, parathyroid disease) but really not even the other health conditions she mentioned.
Sarcoidosis can be temporary so it's entirely reasonable that Lyme can trigger it and, once a person is healed from Lyme, they also heal from sarcoidosis.
I'm sure you've read stories on here about
people who developed hypothyroidism as a result of Lyme....and it corrected itself once they healed.
Still, just because I can't find information online doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I doubt Suzy Cohen pulled her words out of a hat and thus the reason I emailed her with a request for medical references.
I will surely keep you posted.
In the meantime, you might find this medical journal article somewhat comforting

The conclusion is that high 1,25 di-OH levels are not associated with Vit D toxicity.
