my left rib cage is deformed now and hurts like hell

A few weeks ago my left ribs started hurting. my side turned purple and it subsided and the pain left. Now it's starting to hurt again. And it looks about twice the size as the other side. I just emailed my doctor but I wanted to check with you guys too.

IHL - when I first started having symptoms, from the front, it looked like one of my ribs at the bottom was sticking out more than the other one....no one seemed to be concerned about it (figures!!)

It has gotten much better in the past few months - don't know if it was swelling...or what?

That is odd. Do you carry your son around much? I'm glad you're contacting your doctor.
