Does anyone else get this. It 's like a tightening of the muscles in/on the throat up into the chin and cheeks. And if so, do you think it's lyme or Bart?

I don't but thanks for the response . It happens more in my throat tendons/ muscles but travels up into my face.

Thanks lymecrazed! I too hope someone else chimes in. I also get sore throats with this but it's not your typical sore throat. It's kind of hard to describe. The one thing i can liken it to was the feeling i had when I was a kid and had an operation. After the operation they removed the tube from my throat and the way my throat felt then is similar to the way this feels - as if something unnatural was pulled out of it and left a lot of pain and irritation behind.
I wish the best for your daughter, my heart goes out to all the parents like yourself struggling on behalf of your children with this awful disease.

Sorry you're dealing with this too! Sometimes it affects my swallowing. My swallowing functions gets weakened but not so much with food or liquids , mostly my saliva. It's really disconcerting.

That's interesting about the vagus nerve because before this throat stuff started to really manifest I had issues with what I thought was acid reflux. It seemed most things I'd eat would make it flare. I was trying to find something to help it (had gone to gastro who prescribed Rx that didn't touch it) and read on a reflux board about a guy who thought his acid reflux was due to vagus nerve issues. He'd taken some xanax or klonopin (can't remember) and it really helped. At the time I had klonopin (had really bad anxiety from Bart which thankfully has gotten better) and took some before a meal and didn't have the reflux issues. So maybe the reflux transitioned into this latest weirdness with my throat and I need to try klonopin, at least to experiment and see if it makes a difference.
