A new friend of mine who also has Lyme told me that she is in the process of having her entire family tested after her 7 year old son tested positive for Lyme. He showed no symptoms, and I'm not sure exactly what made her decide to test him, so I can't speak to that.
She believes she must have had Lyme when she was pregnant with him even though she really only started showing symptoms a few years ago and was diagnosed about 7 months ago.
I've always assumed I got Lyme shortly before my symptoms started in 2013, despite the fact that my LLND has said that Lyme can be latent in your body until a triggering event. In my case, I did have a mild case of the stomach flu 2 days before my symptoms came on in full force, but I still figured I'd been recently infected because I'd been sick many times over the years without triggering any symptoms.
So now I'm thinking, despite no one being symptomatic, that maybe I should have my entire family tested in case I gave it to my kids in vitro, or maybe even that my husband gave it to me. I think I know what I'm going to do, because I would hate to wait even longer if in fact they do have Lyme, but I'm looking for feedback on what other's thoughts / information / experiences are on this.
