To me, more alkaline means more mineral content.
Because vegetables contain more minerals than does protein, vegetables will produce alkalinity. However, meat protein contains important nutrients as well - B vitamins, vit A, a complete range of amino acids and healthy fatty acids which can not be properly sourced from vegetables.
For this reason we closely follow Terry Wahls, with a bit of PerfectHealthDiet added in.
Making your stomach alkaline is not a good thing. Foods are not properly digested and food-borne bacteria are not neutralized by an alkaline gut. One reason why I shy away from alkaline waters.
