Marie, I looked into it prior to my diagnosis...when i had low Vit. D levels. I found a website that I got a lot of information from.
It seems to be misdiagnosed...and even not treated correctly once diagnosed.
Take a look at it.
If surgery is needed, it must be done by a Dr. who does it all the time. You don't want them taking all the parathyroid glands out...just the ones that need it.
I'm not saying you have a parathyroid issue...but this website is something to look at if you do suspect it.
