Help! I just pulled a tick out of my son's head

First of all, relax. The more freaked out you are, the more freaked out they are - and that certainly doesn't help anyone.

If you haven't yet, cleanse it with peroxide. If it were some where on the body without lots of hair, I would suggest that triple abx ointment also be applied with a bandaid. But since it's his head, it's best not to try to put the abx ointment on it.

You can get him in to a LLMD, but I don't think they will do anything unless he has symptoms and/or a positive test.

I was using astragalus for prevention and just pulled a tick off of me last night, so I raised my dose to the 'full strength adult dose' to hopefully ward off any symptoms, so I'm waiting and watching.

Ok, don't freak out! If your son is a healthy little guy, he will recover quickly. Because of age, I don't think doxy can be prescribed. You can call his pediatrician and ask for abx. Or you can do some herbals if the pediatrician is not lyme friendly.

My daughter (5 yrs old) was bit in Fall last year. THe pediatrician was an idiot (I'm sorry to have to say this, but it's true) and didn't give her anything because she didn't have symptoms. Then we took her for a physical in December and he gave her shots (3 different ones, 7 total vaccines). She got very ill, with symptoms of both barto and lyme. He tested her and everything came negative and despite the symptoms, he refused to treat her. He said she was making it up! She had fevers, joint and rib pain, headaches, muscle pain, vision issues etc

I started her on Buhner protocol for Lyme to which I added a few barto things and she is almost 100% fine. Minor issues here and there. But it really is amazing how far she's got! She started to pee in her pants, although she was potty trained 2 years ago. THat is almost gone as well!

So, take a deep breath, don't freak out, your son will be fine, if you act NOW. Hold on on shots as well, until you are sure he is ok.

I just recently asked my son's doctor what to do if I find a tick on him - he's currently in treatment but I will still panic. She told me to remove it and put a drop of Banderol (Nutramedix) on the bite. Then give him a few drops internally (in water).
