Leaky bladder - Herx or coincidence?

I don't know anything about that symptom specifically but I've realized that almost anything can be a herx, so it's probably not a coincidence!

My daughters (5and9) had this problem but it is getting better. The 5 year old had a few accidents in her bed or on the way to the bathroom too, because she could not make it to the bathroom on time. My 9 yr old wet her bed one time too but only once. She could not make it to the bathroom fast enough so some of it ended in her bed.

They had to pee very often but it's getting better now. I think it's Lyme causing this but I am not sure. One time when my mom was very ill we went to a friend that was a oncologist surgeon at the time. We saw a lot of bacteria in her urine through his microscope, but we never found out what kind of bacteria it was. I suspect it was from Lyme disease because one of her knees was swollen.

Our dr friend never tested mom for Lyme but he put her on abx that he rotated for a year and she got well. Frequent urination continued. Vitamin c liposomal stopped the frequent urination.

It is also common for women as we get older, especially if you had children. I leak if I sneeze and I never had children. Do some kegal exercises to tighten things up down there.

Marie, I do have quite a bit of lower back pain, so that makes sense! That's really interesting. Maybe I need to visit the chiropractor.

Revive, I did have some control problems after my son was born, but it's been a couple of years since it's happened. Now all of a sudden it happened several times in just a couple of days since starting the A-L.

Simela, I've heard of increased frequency, but that's a little different than what I'm experiencing. I don't feel the need to go any more often. It just comes out sometimes when I don't expect it!

Yes, Bartonella and Lyme can both cause Bladder issues. I did have this problem. Sorry I am so late in responding. It was one of my earlier symptoms - imitated cystitis, but was not really cystitis. I was running to the bathroom 20 times a day, but not a problem at night. Did not know I had lyme at the time, went to my Gyn, a urologist - got all sorts of sonograms, everything came back fine. I started taking DMannose and cut back sugar in my diet and then took augmentin, and the urgency all went away. This was only 2 weeks before i discovered I had lyme. The second day after I took doxycyline for the first time, my bladder leaked and my pants were wet - I totally freaked. After that, everytime i started something new, or took an Epson Salt bath, my underpants would get wet - so embarrassing, even though nobody knew. I was sure this was part of a herx - so hopefully this answers your question!

I've been fighting Lyme actively for over 18 months now. It started with interstitial cystitis - frequent urination, lots of lower pelvis pain, like an urinary tract infection. Nothing showed up in tests. Finally found a Lyme literate MD and have been treating with herbs and antibiotics. I frequently wet the bed at night while I'm herxing from the meds attacking the bugs. It's pretty typical for the Lyme to hang out in your bladder, kidneys and liver. They love smushy stuff. Resorted to wearing Depends - at age 56. It's embarassing and annoying but I know it will pass. Just have to try to detox more - infrared sauna, hot epsom salt baths, etc.
