Should I stay on this med and does this make sense to you??

a month ago i tried to take minocycline and it made my throat feel tight and like it had a lump it in, didnt rlly bother my breathing just felt like something was stuck in my throat so they moved me to doxy capsules had the same reaction....so i took doxyhycrate or whatevr and was fine and im fine with all my other antibiotics except I added rifampin today to take with the rest for BART and i got the same old reaction from it my throat feels s really tight like something is stuck in it and its really annoying , Should i just suck it up and keep taking it and this feeling could go away or should i tell my LLMD and try and find a different med, I heard rifampin is one of the best for BART which is why im hesitate to stop even though its causing my throat to feel really tight but not bothering my breathing... My chinese herbalist said that I could be having this reaction from some meds because they could be attacking part of the infection in my throat where other meds arnt able to get to it? I dont know if i believe that or if its an allergic reaction(no rash no trouble breathing no other sings of reacton though)

What would others do here, suck it up and deal with the throat tightness and the feeling of something in your throat since rifampin is suppose to be the best for BART or call your llmd and try something else, i am worried since iv had 4 or 5 reactions already hes running out of choices for me on what i can take

I would definitely discuss with your LLMD.

Did you ever have throat issues prior to going on meds...as a symptom? Do you have difficulty swallowing from it?

While, it could be a symptom coming out with the treatment, I'd be concerned that it is an allergy, or adverse reaction to the meds...which could be dangerous if it gets worse.

Definitely tell your LLMD a.s.a.p.

I forgot to ask - did you start on full dose Rifampin? If I were you I'd stop taking it until you talk to your LLMD. If you and he decide you're continuing, I would decrease the amount and see if it gets better.

Is it possible that the abxs are causing the lymph nodes in your neck to swell when you first start on a new one?
I've had that happen. It's caused me to choke on water.
The swelling settles down when your body adjusts to the new medicine. It's still wise to talk to your Dr but it may be as simple as that. Lyme and Co are crazy inflammatory and starting a new treatment is kind of like stirring the Hornets nest on the way to eliminating it.

they told me to stop it......but llike u just said it could go away....and i heard this is the best for bart......idk if im gonna take it again or tomorrow not, i feel like i should try and fight throught it idk
