Are Lyme disease vaccines good for dogs?

Is it safe to vaccinate my dog for LD?

After the Lymerix fiasco, I've got my hackles up (one of my past dogs had this vax, and I have wondered if it contributed to her demise).

Posted this before, but for those who have not seen. Lymerix vaccine victim stories (mind you, these poor souls apparently were also apparently told no such thing as chronic lyme, and their symptoms, even though heightened &/or paralyzing, did not exist. Class action suit followed):

I understand it is "supposed" to be different between dog & man, but...???

I also heard people got Lyme from the vaccination, I would never do that to my dog. I thought on mistymeadows site there was a Lyme preventer you could take plus give it to your pets.
