A good article, but scary. I wonder how many MD's don't know anything about this. From what I remember from the work on Mycoplasma from Dr. Garth Nicholson, Doxycycline does treat the Mycoplasma. I am reading but not finished "Project Day Lily." regarding Mycoplasma and Gulf War Syndrome.

It's most likely that most doc's don't have a clue, even most of the LLMD's, I'd bet -if I was a betting type of person.

Yes, very scary - and sad that we have resorted to doing these things to other people.

We've been talking a lot about this kind of thing lately.

The question is, when will this information be made public (and how)?

Books have been written, but still, noone gets it!

I think one of the biggest problems is conspiracy theorists. They unwittingly get in our way.

Trav., a lot of LLMDs do know.

Both the LLMDs I've seen seemed quite well informed about it.

I think some docs have even made presentations regarding this topic on ILADS, though not sure about the latter--remember some kind of connection between biowarfare testing and ILADS.

Right Happyjo - people are much more interested in someone's dress than this kind of stuff. The only ones that are seriously trying to bring awareness is those that are affected by it, and the "other side" is desperately still trying to make us look like "Lyme Loonies" - as we are called. Unfortunately, since this is all almost too much to believe - with the hiding of LLMD's names, going against the CDC and IDSA and the fact that most don't "get it" until they too are infected - most of the public really does think we are making too much "ado" about this.

Okay, off my soap box now..... LOL!!! I'm "preaching to the choir" here!! LOL!

Ha ha ha!! I just came back to the forum after seeing an article on Daily Beast where yet another "doctor" was making a fool of himself by claiming that Lyme is non-existent and chronic Lyme is a myth. I wonder if they thought I was eloquent??? turn Giggle!! Not likely, as I'm pretty sure I will have stirred many to anger with the things I said.

I get tired of the opinions about our infections from those that refuse to do more than read a few headlines. Grrr!
