While they may be right about some of it ending up in the blood stream under certain circumstances, but what I know is that the detrimental effects of abx on the intestines is a sure thing and it can create some pretty serious issues. This is a very well documented issue with abx usage, especially if the person is using them long term or in high doses - and we do both.
Leaky gut can be treated and healed, but not if you can't tolerate the treatments for the conditions (Lyme) due to intestinal issues from not protecting and re-establishing the good bacteria in the digestive tract. At least that's how I see it, and how most other approach it.
You can avoid all of this by going to IV or PICC line treatments, but those carry their own risks.
