URGENT! Registerd Medical Marijuana Chronic Lyme Study Group

I've had Chronic Lyme and multiple co-infections for over 20 years. I know it is slowly killing me.

Pain meds were the only solution that made life bearable. I've gone to the top LLMD's who wanted to do the standard picc line and oxygen chambers, but I felt very strongly, this would not help only cause more problems as I have the craziest reactions to food, medications, etc.

My neurologist highly suggested I register for Medical Marijuana in NJ in which I did. When I took it, I vaped it and having emphysema caused me to not inhale enough and it was actually painful in my lungs. I then experienced the worse herx reactions I ever had and knew... the cannabis was killing the lyme. I won't go into gross detail here but it was like my body was a volcano getting rid of the dead germs. Then, like clockwork, I experienced severe afib attacks. I know the Lyme is in my heart as I've been on heart meds for many years. I stopped taking the cannabis because I was afraid I would not be able to control a more severe afib attack.

Months go by and I'm feeling worse. I can't afford to see a new closer LLMD. I used to go to Dr. H but they strongly felt the next options were what I felt would bring me more harm. Right or wrong, I stopped seeing him.

Finally went back to my neurologist and he told me I knew the cannabis was killing the Lyme. When I was on it needed half the amount of pain pills in a day, which I was up to the limit and after years of taking it, my tolerance to it was very low. He said no one knows how long the bad herxing will last and how long it would take to really feel better, but we've both read experiences of huge improvements with this treatment method.

He told me to TELL my cardiologist to give me a prescription for when the afib attacks occur. That I was to consume as much edible cannabis recipes I could tolerate.

I just started back on it tonight and thankfully I had read edibles are 10 times stronger. I made cannabutter and ate 1/4 of a teaspoon on a cracker. 8 hours later, I'm still feeling the effects. I have one type for day time and one for night time. What usually will happen is on the 2nd day, after I had vaped, I had the severe herxing and afib. We'll see what happens in 2 days. Based on the strains I was given though, I can work productively from home. At least tomorrow morning when I think I've been so productive, I'll be able to see reality with a clear head ;-)

The main reason I have started this discussion is I have not found ANY medical marijuana treatment for chronic lyme studies by any LLMD, let alone a group to help each other do a data-gathering to track results, give support, discuss issues and relief.

I know there are some members here that are taking medical marijuana for Chronic Lyme treatment. If we form a group and find a LLMD that believes in the potential that med marijuana can kill lyme, the sooner others will be helped.

If you're out there PLEASE join this discussion and let's get some facts together by helping ourselves, we'll be able to help the millions who suffer.

I think I know the reason why I can't find any groups like this. I hope I am not correct and we'll see what happens to this group discussion.

So glad you posted as your post was why I joined HealingWell and started the group discussion, not being able to find anything similar.

We both have very similar symptoms and I feel it is so important to share our progress or lack of with other registered medical marijuana patients. Most of my issues are pain control, depression, weight loss and thankfully the brain fog has improved like 90% as I run a business.... or at least try to!

I tried the cannabutter for the first time using an edible 2 days ago and had no idea how strong it was. It's a good thing I only used it on one cracker! Haven't had an afib attack since I tried it which is wonderful news for me. The neurologist thinks my heart is infested and why the herx die-off starts, it triggers the afib attacks.

In NJ, the dispensary is not allowed to sell the oil / tincture. I tried making it once but think I messed it up and I was also afraid of the reactions. It's so expensive, I had to use it and not know if I'm doing the "recipe" correctly. How can you order online "legally"?

My neurologist told me to take as much as I could but finding it difficult to work at times even though they've tried 4 different strains for the day time.

Do you know of others that would meet weekly to in a chatroom here to discuss progress with MM? I wish we could also get a LLMD to participate. I have no idea which LLMD's are even aware or using it as treatment. Do you? (without names of course)

I will join in on a chat sometime but I do work 3 nights a week, no certain nights, so am not available those nights. Plus I am up really late so it would need to after 10 pm, which is late for normal people.

That's one benefit to keeping the discussion on the forum - people can read and participate no matter when they have free time, instead of having to be near a computer at any given day or time.

Where did you find out about the antibiotic effect of cannabis? Is there literature or has someone used it to treat patients?

Let's keep the thread going here for now as I think "URGENT" brings fellow lymies attention to this.
My hope is to have a LLMD moderate our progress and use these stats to help others. Please ask your LLMD or they no others that would be interested in this study. Here's where The Real LLMD's should step up... u think?

There's a great blog I read that intentionally places humor with our symptoms. I think it's an excellent idea and would like to invite her to this discussion as I don't think she's aware of MM and is doing the ole' PICC line treatment which everyone wants me to do.

I personally am scared shytless as my Lyme has given me afib. I also know what antibiotics from our wonderful pharm industry can do to our bodies, so I prefer to go the route of The Oil.

Made the edibles (think I mentioned it before), before I found out that 99% of the antibiotic effect is gone when you decarbolize (sp?) There's a simple recipe with only olive oil, bringing the heat just to the boiling point. Will find the recipe when I remind myself to reminder where I saw it.

When I vaped the first time, I had afib attacks the 2nd day like clockwork. Too much die-off too fast I'm thinking and heart did not like that. Plus I will not go into the very gross description of what happens in The Reading Room Talk about volcanoes... just gross.

Started the cannabutter with probably 1/4 inch, by 1/8 inch. NEVER was high that long. In fact, got to the point I didn't want to feel that way anymore as I was trying to use Lyme Brain to work! So next time 1/8 by 1/8. Took at least 3 hours for me to feel it and I FELT IT. STRONG. I had to use one of the first blends I bought that had too much THC in it to mix with the morning blend I had left. Soon as I can save money to buy more, will buy the right blend.

Anxious to try the oil made the right way as I've tried MM in 3 different forms. Having emphysema, the vaping was a BAD idea. Thought I would cough to deaf.

Regarding other states legalization. You can be a registered user as Fibromyelgia is listed which we all have.

As far as meeting times... my sleeping patterns are completely reversed now plus I work with my management team that is located in Australia which totally turns brain around re time zones.

Thrilled there's participation in this discussion. I think we all know the importance of documentation and proving what works. I firmly believe the right blends, taken with the oil recipe will kill some if not all of our lyme.

We have to believe in something and its certainly not Pharma.

Pamela’s story

The radio show High Noon interviewed Pamela, who suffered from Lyme disease. Pamela, like Alexis, had a very difficult time with pharmaceuticals and started to vaporize cannabis instead, later switching to cannabis oil.

She found that the oil completely removed all of her symptoms, and she was soon no longer bed ridden. After a short time, she ran out of the oil and the symptoms came back, confirming for her that it worked.

Note: There are no real studies confirming the use of cannabis oil for Lyme disease, many people just find that they are experimenting with what works best for them. As we reported in an earlier article, Coconut Oil and Cannabis Capsule – A Medical Miracle, the oil is being used with success to also treat cancer.

While many remain suspicious of the therapeutic benefits of cannabis, those that have had a positive experience with Lyme, cancer or any number of other conditions continue to speak out about their experiences with the hope that they can educate and inform others.

I was unaware of your "doctor" rules or would not have requested an LLMD.

I'll start my own group discussion there where the group makes the rules to benefit research and cures to end this suffering during our life time. I'm 64 and intend to see some cure while I'm still here.

I'm not offended Traveler at all. I need to do what I feel is best for myself and others. If you have those rules, I respect them but will continue to bring in a LLMD for the medical research in another forum environment as I personally feel its extremely urgent. I will keep this group updated.
