Hey guys I'm a college student who lives on campus and it's tough staying away from alcohol here...I have Lyme plus Bart and bab and am on ABX while here...I was doing some research on a supplement called Mollybendrum or something like that and it is supposed to bind all the toxins in your brain to drastically take away the hangover. Would it be ok to take a few pills before drinking? Just want to be a normal college student lol...

Two reasons you shouldn't drink - you have Lyme disease and your body needs you to be putting healthy nutrients into it.

Secondly - you're not supposed to drink when you're on antibiotics. I think you could seriously harm yourself mixing booze and antibiotics.

Also - I guess this is a third reason - the antibiotics are hard on the liver - adding alcohol is adding more burden to your already taxed liver.


Sorry - I can't give you any advice on that supplement.

As much as you long to be a "normal" college student, I'm sorry, but you are not. And this could set you back in your health so that the education you are trying to get now you may not be able to finish, or it could come back to haunt you a bit later in life (because drinking alcohol directly affects the effectiveness of the abx) and you may not be able to have a normal life later.

Please take your treatments more seriously than the drinking and partying that goes on at college - believe me, you will want your body to last a lot longer than the college experience!!

Please don't mess up your treatment for a few times of drinking.
